"That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
2 Corinthians 12:10
The Christian life is an upside down life, opposite to everything the world believes. Today's verse tells us to rejoice in our weaknesses, when we are insulted, in hardships, and in persecutions and difficulties. When we are weak, God shines brightly through us and makes us strong. This is how we model Him to others: We stand firm with God as our strength as an example of heaven to those around. It becomes obvious that this is humanly impossible; only God could enable such things. Others witness the power of God in us and their faith is built on His abilities, not on our inabilities. During times of crisis and persecution, the Church grows rapidly, perhaps because it is clear the only hope is Jesus. Endure through suffering—God will be glorified, we will be built up and encouraged, and His Kingdom will be established.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, today I choose to delight in my weaknesses, in the insults from others, in the hardships I face for You, in the way others persecute me for my faith, and in the difficulties that come from knowing and walking with You. I am weak but you are ALL strength and life and purpose for me. Shine through this broken vessel and draw all to Jesus.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, thank You for the Sankaran Maninka peoples of Mali. You already have a plan to reach out to them with Your love and with the love of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You that since time began You saw each one and loved them with an everlasting love. Bring them to Your heart, Lord, bring them into Your arms by grace through faith. Let each disciple BE Your witness and become an effective disciple maker. Sow healthy fellowships in every place so the life of the Kingdom shines brightly among the Sankaran Maninka. Show forth Your glory among these peoples today."
