"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."
Philippians 2:3-4
All followers of Christ are called and commanded by Jesus to die to themselves and take up their respective crosses and follow Him. As we set out to plant multiplying churches, let us seek to know Christ and Him crucified, as Paul said. This means that we seek to see our own lives obedient to Jesus in all things. We value others above ourselves. We can serve others and empower them to stand on our shoulders and go far beyond where we have been able to go for His Kingdom’s sake. When we have modeled then assisted disciples to mature, watching them, then launching them out are the natural next steps. We are not building our own kingdom but that of Jesus. We model humility and confidence in the Holy Spirit by releasing them in His care. He is able to keep that which we have committed to Him against that Day.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, I am longing to know You more and more each day. I want my relationship with You to be THE reality in my life. I want to sing praises to You and to help others praise You as well. I want to bless everyone I meet and to be a blessing. As I model Kingdom living, help others walk in it, then watch them as they imitate me, give me confidence to release them in Your care. Help me walk in humility and servanthood with those I mentor. Multiply many new leaders that go and do likewise.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, I long to be used by You as I pray. Send out church planting missionaries among the Daza peoples of Chad that carry the gospel to these people. Holy Spirit, be poured out in power in every movement planted among the Daza. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth among them as it is done always in heaven above. Cause Jesus followers to live as You did, to help others do so, to watch them share their faith so as to raise up other Jesus followers, then confidently release them to continue to multiply disciples and fellowships."
