"When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them, if not, it will return to you. Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house."Luke 10:5-7
Today's verse speaks of entering a house and staying there, not moving around. Jesus’ instructions were to ‘stay in the house.’ By focusing our attention on those who are receptive, the entire household is discipled. Jesus instructs His disciples not to move around from house to house; the Kingdom of God is built through lines of relationship. Those who know us best recognize the changes in our lives when Jesus begins to transform us. That testimony of transformation welcomes others to experience the same thing. God created families and He recreates them by His grace to follow Jesus.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, as I go, teach me to disciple whole households. Match me with the partner you are calling me to walk with in this journey. Empower us to recognize people of peace who are hungry for You. Help us be humble to receive their help and build relationships that begin Kingdom multiplication.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, today I ask that You would bring Your love to the Turkish-speaking Kurd today. There is so much darkness and the chains are heavy on these people; bring forth the light of Jesus among them today. Break the heaviness of oppression off them. Open entire households to the gospel and expand Your Kingdom among them. May there be many lighthouses of the Gospel among the Turkish-speaking Kurd very quickly for Your glory."
