"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like."
James 1:22-24
Today's verse is a stark warning against religion and religious activities. Religion is man reaching toward God, not God reaching out to man. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you if you are looking in the mirror of the Word of God, then walking away doing nothing about what you have seen. Ask God to show you any areas you are not obeying His Word. Ask for grace to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Ask Him to fill your heart with His Word so that you do not sin against Him. Ask Him to show you how you are to accomplish the assignments He gives you. Submit your plans to Him. Seek first God's kingdom and everything else falls in place.
Disciple's Prayer:
"Father, help me be transparent and open to Your inspection of my life. Clean me from top to bottom with Your Word, Jesus. Help me submit my thoughts and plans to You and to respond sensitively to Your directions. Guide me to regularly review, revise and regroup as you show me. Illuminate any blind spots and soften any stubbornness. Take me deeper in Your confidence as I am faithful to obey. I hold my plans loosely that You may make any adjustments You deem appropriate. Thank You that You are faithful to lead me in Your paths of righteousness for Your Name’s sake. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!"

"Father, oh how I long to know You more and to know Christ crucified. Lord, I call out to You and cry out from the bottom of my heart for the salvation of the Maira Halwai. Lord, give them a taste of Your presence and let them find all their desires satisfied in Your salvation. Open their eyes to see what You are doing and guide them to walk in Your ways. Raise up Maira Halwai men and women to launch new movements among their people today. Empower leaders to receive Your divine strategies and execute Your plans that Your Kingdom comes fully and glorifies You greatly. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!"
