OVERCOME PERSECUTION AND SUFFERING

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

James 1:2-4

This week’s church planting movement principle is: Overcome Persecution and Suffering. James 1:2-4 instructs us: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” Difficulties of all kinds are tests of our faith with a variety of wonderful results for which we can rejoice. Not only will you, by enduring the suffering and persecution, grow deeper in your faith as it is tested, but you will in the process become mature and complete, modeling to the world your deep love of God through your willingness to face all kinds of trials for His Name’s sake. Pray for patient endurance for every suffering, persecuted disciple. Pray we each remember and look to Jesus for encouragement as our model for enduring suffering and overcoming persecution.

Ask God this week to give everyone involved in church planting movements a sense of their connectedness to the family of Christ as children of God. Practice listening to Holy Spirit daily for where He is sending you to prepare His way.
