PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL

"As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you."

Mark 5:18-19

Though the entire village begged Jesus to leave, the Gadarene demoniac that had been freed begged to go with Jesus. Yet, Jesus refused and sent him back to his own people to tell what God had done for him. A while after this, Jesus and His disciples returned to be met by crowds in the region of the Decapolis. The former demoniac had apparently spread his testimony far and wide, preparing the way for Jesus’ ministry to the entire region. Outsider-insider partnerships for movements allow a local believer who understands the culture and community to collaborate with outsiders who may bring breadth of connection, perspective and resources to bear for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Both are enriched as they walk together, growing in their mutually beneficial relationship and service to Jesus.

Disciple's Prayer for Today:

"Father, I come humbly before You and bow before Your Great Name. Help me love and serve others the way You love me. Build bridges of friendship and collaboration between me and others who can open doors into new communities for the sake of the Gospel. Guide me as I watch for opportunities to join hands with You and insiders among the groups to whom You send me. Use our partnership to birth movements of disciples making disciples, and fellowships multiplying fellowships. Thank you for everything, my Abba Father!”

Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:

"Father, thank You for the Baggara, Messiria peoples in Sudan. You see each one of them individually as a people in need of Your love. Raise up movements that birth other movements among these people and beyond. Strengthen Your children who are already among them and make them fruitful disciple makers. May they see Your kingdom come and Your will be done in their communities as it is in heaven. Thank you, in Jesus name I pray, Amen."
