"But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you."
1 Peter 5:10
Jesus clearly told His followers that in the world we would have tribulation; yet, He encouraged us that He has overcome the world. In due time, God perfects, confirms, strengthens, and establishes us in Him. Weeping may endure for the night, but God assures us that joy comes in the morning. We lean hard on His everlasting arms, and look for the dawn breaking. As He gives us the seasons of peace, we steward them well by seizing those times to rejoice, to celebrate, to assess progress, and to prepare to advance again. We cultivate grateful hearts for His goodness, come rain or sunshine, and trust in His unfailing love to keep us. Thank You, God, that You are truly a Good Shepherd and will lead us safely home.
Disciple's Prayer:
"Father, thank You for seasons of peace and fruitfulness along the way. In due time, perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish me as I lean on and trust in You. Help me make the most of and steward well each season. I recognize You are the Good Shepherd; I trust You to care for my needs. Make me exceedingly fruitful for Your glory in every season. In Jesus’ name I ask, Amen."
