"Pray always. Pray in the Spirit. Pray about everything in every way you know how! And keeping all this in mind, pray on behalf of God’s people. Keep on praying feverishly, and be on the lookout until evil has been stayed. And please pray for me. Pray that truth will be with me before I even open my mouth. Ask the Spirit to guide me while I boldly defend the mystery that is the good news— for which I am an ambassador in chains—so pray that I can bravely pronounce the truth, as I should do."
Ephesians 6:18-20
Prayer crosses from the temporal, the here and now, and touches the eternal, the what has been, the what is, and the what will be. This is faith and belief, that God is eternal and eternally in control. We are told in these verses to pray on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests, to always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Extraordinary prayer includes all kinds of prayers and requests.
Prayer is a many-faceted communication which serves many purposes in His Kingdom. We may pray prayers of worship, praise, thanks, intercession, confession, supplication, and so much more. Disciple's Prayer:
"Father, I ask that in Jesus name you would increase my faith. Help my unbelief! Help my faith grow in you and my trust in you to deepen today. Bring those to me who would teach me deeper things of you and let me share what you've given me with others."
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, I ask that in Jesus name you would reveal Yourself to the Hui peoples today. Lord, use one of the Christ movements in China to reach out, befriend, and share the good news of Jesus Christ with the Hui peoples. Lord, help their unbelief! Help their faith grow in you. Bring believers to the new Hui believers who would teach them deeper things of you and let them share what you've given them with others. In Jesus' name, Amen."
