"Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits."
Romans 12:16
One of the biggest traps we fall into as fallen humans is to think more highly of ourselves than we ought. If we meditate on today's verse and this week's movement principle, we can see that we should think of ourselves as beloved children of God and think of others as the same. In this way, we can disciple: by encouraging others around us onward in the faith, as we live out the calling that God has placed on our lives as individuals. If we pursue God and seek His face in our own personal lives, then all that we need flows from Him to us and then it can flow outward from us to others. Obey God as He sows our lives into new fields as “hot coals”. We will be multiplying all God has given us, not holding it back for ourselves. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with a humble heart to simple see yourself as He sees you and then to press onward toward the high call wherever He may lead.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, I humble myself before You today and ask You to make me a bright, burning coal that can ignite passion for You in others around me today. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and lead me down the path of righteousness for your Name’s sake. Sow my life into new fields where the Kingdom is not yet flourishing as You will. Help me in humility obey Your direction. Thank You for all You've done, are doing, and will continue to do in my life. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, here I come again to bring to You my requests for the Karan Kayastha peoples of India today! Their numbers overwhelm my heart but You know each one of them by name. You see their hearts, know their thoughts, and You alone can save! Send your representatives, your “hot coals”, into and among these people to point them toward You today. Give grace to walk the path of intercession for these my future brothers and sisters in Christ. God, build Your family today among these people! In Jesus’ name I pray! Amen!"
