"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"
2 Corinthians 6:14
It is one thing to dwell with the wicked and quite another to dwell with those who share the faith. We are called to do life with our brothers and sisters in Jesus and we are called to love and reach out to the lost and hurting of the world. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with understanding today of the difference. Ask God to give you ears to hear and eyes to see where He wants you to walk and work today. Light and darkness can have no fellowship, but this does not mean that we do not love the lost of the world—no, not at all! But, it means that we guard our hearts and the precious things God has given us from those who would walk all over those pearls. Intimate fellowship with others pursuing Jesus’ purposes builds us up. Evil companions corrupt good character. We prayerfully are seeking those whose hearts are prepared to respond and we seize every opportunity to share with them ways to go deeper with God.
Disciple's Prayer:
"Father, the road ahead looks dark and long but I thank You that Your light will be a lamp unto my feet! I am so happy that I get the blessing of being Your child today. Help me to show others who You are through the way I live my life today. Help me lift up others around me! Fill me to overflowing! Keep me pursuing those inclined toward You; help me move on when there is no interest. In Jesus’ name, Amen!"
Unreached of the Day's Prayer:
"Father, my Abba Father, my Daddy God, it is for this purpose You brought me to where I am, so that I could lift my voice up to You for the Newah peoples of India today. I know You hear my prayers! I know You know them and love them. So, I ask that you would do what You always do! Be You among them! Pursue their hearts in ways they recognize and respond to. Send more than enough laborers to every place in every group. Help those laborers make other effective disciple makers. Guide their efforts to maximize the fruitfulness. May the Newah become pioneers for the Gospel among many other neighboring groups as well. This child’s prayer I pray today in simplicity! You know! You know them all! So, save them, Daddy God! In Jesus’ name, Amen!"
