"Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple."
Luke 14:27
Daily discipleship is the daily carrying of our cross and following after our Lord to the place where we die to our own will and we carry out His. Consider today: do you eat the bread of the will of God? Is the will of God being done daily in your life? Is doing God's will your very heartbeat? Are you dying to your own will daily? Consider this, consider your days! Every single moment counts! You cannot be a disciple of Jesus Christ if you do not take up your cross and come after Him. This Jesus said, with His own words! Do we listen? Do we obey? The call goes out but do we hear it? When you teach those to whom you have been sent to teach, do you lead by example as you die to yourself and obey God? You replicate what you are in those who you live around and teach. They are watching. Walk like Jesus and let them see what that looks like so that they can go and do the same.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, it is so hard to die to myself, but today I trust You to lead me in the paths of right-standing with You. You know my heart and You know my heart's longings. Train me in Your ways and to do Your will today. Show me the open doors that I am to walk through for You in this world and shut any door that might lead me away from You. Hold me close to You and protect me. Be my Father! I love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray! Amen!"
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, thank You! Thank You for creating me. Thank You for giving me my voice. Thank You for the confidence that you always hear my prayers to You. Today, I come before You and lift up the Muslim Valmiki peoples of India. God, You know. You know! You know all their needs and You know how to save each one of them for Yourself! Holy Spirit of power, pour out among them and to ignite multiplying movements across this land that You have made for Your very own glory. Help Your image bearers to walk worthy of Your call and to truly be able to die daily to their own wills and walk in Your will. Multiply flourishing fellowships which well represent You among the Muslim Valmiki in India! Thank You, Father! In Jesus’ name, Amen."
