"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship."
Romans 12:1
Today's verse speaks of surrendering our wills for God's will and our ways for God's ways. It speaks about the laying down of our own understanding and grabbing hold of the understanding given to us by God's Word. As we make disciples for Jesus through multiplying movements around the globe, consider how much more important it is that we are daily laying down our own way and choosing instead His ways. He laid out the law and Jesus fulfilled it. The law was far less strict that the laws that Jesus laid out. Consider that for a moment? But as followers of Jesus Christ filled by the Holy Spirit, we walk by the Spirit so that we do not do what the flesh in us wants but we put it to death with the constant and daily help of the Holy Spirit living in us. Ask God to fill you with new revelation of this simple truth... not by might, not by power, but by His Spirit.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, thank You that You always, always hear me. I thank You that it is Your ways and will that matters. I ask that my heart would be bent toward You today. Bend me, Lord, toward your will. Cause my heart to be filled with love for You and for what You would have me do in every moment to please You, my Father. Empower me to present my body fully to You as a living sacrifice with no reservations. Give me grace upon grace. Give me an overflowing abundance of mercy. Show me Your favor! In Jesus’ name, amen!"
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, today I humble myself before Your mighty hand and I lift up my voice for the Balahar (Muslim traditions) peoples of India in prayer. Look from heaven and see them, each one uniquely made for Your own glory! Fall mightily among them today and transfer them from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light of Your dear Son, Jesus. Break every bondage that holds them in darkness and send forth Your angels to go and do mighty works among them to show Your power today. Multiply powerful disciples who in turn multiply other disciple-makers. Help followers of Jesus learn to die daily and live unto You. Thank You for them and for what You are going to do today among them. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!"
