"But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."Acts 20:24
What value do you place on your own life? Your dreams? Your desires? Your future? In today's verse, Paul says he does not account his life of any value nor as precious to himself... he aims to finish his course and the ministry he received from Jesus Christ to testify to the good news of the gospel. How do you stand on this? Ask God to show you places your priorities are out of line with His will; ask for His abundant, transforming grace to wash over those places. Jettison any extra baggage which hinders. Ask God to make His purposes in your life clear so you run your race with focus, undistracted by trivial things.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father I desperately need a touch from you. Distractions flood my life and threaten to pull me away from you. Teach me to lean on your everlasting arms. Show me areas where the good is choking out the best! Help me eliminate distractions and focus on Your assignments for me. Let me be outwardly focused on others around me today. Let me accomplish what you’ve called me to do among my family and the ripe harvest fields to which you've sent me.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father I stand in the gap for the Punjabi in Myanmar. Jesus, shine the bright light of your salvation among these people. Send out sufficient workers into this ripe harvest field. Help workers among them be focused and undistracted as they proclaim good news. Break the chains off these people, Lord, and enable them to hear and see You as Savior and Lord. Give them dreams and visions of You and all that You are today! Multiply flourishing fellowships of believers. Bring many of them into Your family by Your great mercy and grace. In Jesus' name, Amen."
