MODEL, ASSIST, WATCH, AND LAUNCH

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

Philippians 2:3-4

This week’s church planting movement principle is: Model, Assist, Watch, and Launch. In Mark 1:38 we read: “Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else-to the nearby villages- so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.’” In this verse, Jesus tells His disciples to follow Him to nearby villages to continue on with the purpose for His coming. Jesus wanted to go to new places to share the good news of His coming with people who had not yet heard. In Romans 15:20 we read: “It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.” Here we see Paul expressing his intention to always be going to new places to build new churches for Christ. As a church planter you are called to GO, to reproduce other disciples that become disciple makers, and to gather fellowships that multiply other fellowships. This means to go and make disciples of all men by teaching and training new leaders like yourself who will go out and do what you are doing and thereby multiply yourself for the kingdom of God. Pray for movement catalysts to model healthy leadership, assist new leaders, watch and advise new leaders, and then empower and release local leaders, moving (in God’s time) to peoples and places in greater need.

Ask God this week to give everyone involved in church planting movements a sense of their connectedness to the family of Christ as children of God. Practice listening to Holy Spirit daily for where He is sending you to prepare His way.
